A Brief Introduction to the Origin of the Ocarina

The ocarina is an ancient and distinctive wind instrument. It was first produced in China, with a history of more than 7,000 years, and most of the internationally popular ocarinas originated from Italy, which is a wind instrument that resembles a submarine and has a whistle, usually fired or molded with clay.

The appearance of the ocarina is closely related to the development of pottery, which was originally made of terracotta. The invention of the ocarina has a deep historical relationship with life, sacrifice, entertainment, etc., and was mainly used for sacrificial ceremonies and religious activities in the early days.

With the characteristics of simple production, easy to use and melodious tone, the ocarina has gradually evolved into a popular folk musical instrument and has become an indispensable part of China's ancient traditional music culture.
